Fix NinjaTrader Chart Lag on a Trading VPS



RDP (Remote Desktop) Display Settings - MOST IMPORTANT


Before logging into the VPS:


  1. On your local PC, open Remote Desktop Connection

  1. Click Show Options

  1. Go to the Display tab


  • Set Display configuration to Full screen

  • Set Colors to Highest (32-bit)


  1. Go to Experience tab


  • Uncheck Font smoothing

  • Uncheck Desktop background
  • Uncheck Show window contents while dragging

  • Uncheck Menu and window animation

  • Uncheck Visual styles


  1. Click Save, then connect to the VPS again








NinjaTrader Performance Settings


In NinjaTrader (on the VPS) :


  1. Go to Tools - Options - Performance

  1. Set:

  • Calculate on bar close = ON (for charts you don’t need tick-by-tick)

  • Disable any unused market data

  1. On each chart:

  • Reduce Days to load

  • Turn OFF Chart Trader on charts you don’t trade from








Restart NinjaTrader after this.





We recommend restarting your VPS once a week to refresh system caches and maintain optimal performance.



  1. Login to the VPS Client area.


  • Select your VPS server.
  • Click on the Restart/Reboot option.
  • Confirm.


Wait 1-5 minutes for the restart to complete.
