# Fix NinjaTrader Chart Lag on a Trading VPS



### RDP (Remote Desktop) Display Settings - MOST IMPORTANT



Before logging into the VPS:



1. On your local PC, open Remote Desktop Connection

2. Click Show Options

3. Go to the Display tab



* Set Display configuration to Full screen

* Set Colors to Highest (32-bit)




4. Go to Experience tab

* Uncheck Font smoothing

* Uncheck Desktop background
* Uncheck Show window contents while dragging

* Uncheck Menu and window animation

* Uncheck Visual styles


5. Click Save, then connect to the VPS again

### NinjaTrader Performance Settings


In NinjaTrader (on the VPS) :


1. Go to Tools - **Options** - **Performance**

2. **Set:**

* Calculate on bar close = **ON** (for charts you don’t need tick-by-tick)

* Disable any unused **market** data

3. **On each chart:**

* Reduce Days to** load
**

* Turn **OFF** Chart Trader on charts you don’t trade from

|| We recommend restarting your VPS once a week to refresh system caches and maintain optimal performance.


1. Login to the **VPS Client** area.

* Select your **VPS** server.
* Click on the **Restart/Reboot** option.
* **Confirm.**

**Wait 1-5 minutes for the restart to complete.**
